The Many Horses of The Ranch

A variety of different horses have come through our gates, from Nikky and Joe's very first horses to the wild little geldings born here to the newest Mustang adoptees. Most whom have come to call this home end up staying their whole lives here. Every time Nikky says there are enough, it usually means one more will arrive soon.

Taris Last Chance (Chance)

A past mounted shooting horse with more buttons than most of us know how to use, this gelding's nickname is Captain Cadillac. He was Aden's 4H mount for two years and when he's not competing with Allie he helps Nikky learn to ride way better than she ever has before.

Picasos Magical Remedy (Ziggy)

When the crazy in Evie saw the crazy in Zigs, we knew they were a perfect match. It makes Nikky hold her breath to watch them run reining patterns and gallop around the arena.

Tyr (the Terror)

Half Quarter Horse, half Gypsy Vanner- all personality, Tyr is the wild child of the Ranch. Even at 9 he's still always voted as the "Most Likely to Get Into Trouble and Bring Friends Along to Join In." Ask us about that one time he got loose and skidded through the neighbors perfectly manicured lawn...

Herokin (Hero)

Our Gentle Giant and Farm Mascot, Hero is everyone's favorite "pony." At 17 yrs old and 1600lbs give or take, he's still the biggest chicken with no feathers you'll ever meet, but he'll steal your heart (and any snacks you may have) if you give him half a chance. Just mind his big feet!

Huckleberry

Originally purchased as an additional lesson horse, Huck needed a solid year to just be after he came to live with us. Then, he stole Aden's heart and they became a team for the 2023 4H year.

Castor

One of two Haflinger Pony brothers who the Ranch acquired in 2022, Castor has become one of the best kids horses we could have ever asked for in our lesson program.

Belanos

Born on Beltaine, Bel is our half Friesian/half QH puppy. We have watched him grow from a precocious colt to a stunning gelding and Mr Majestic, as we like call him, has the foundation to become a great war mount for HG Sir Ronan and their SCA gaming endeavors. Now if we can get his 3 brain cells to cooperate at the same time...

Saras Twitch (Ciri)

The beautiful Ms Ciri came to us from a friend in Montana and ever since she's been here she has amazed us with her sweet demeanor and amazing abilities. From teaching beginners, to helping 4Hers to competing in gaming, we look forward to all she has to offer for our riders here at the Ranch.

Pheon

Phe is our newest addition to the Ranch, a yearling Mustang from the Hardtrigger HMA in Idaho. She is Nikky's new favorite project and warming up slowly but nicely to life as a pampered pony.

Valkyrie (Val)

Val is a coming 4 yr old Mustang from the Triple B HMA in Nevada (close to Vegas, baby!). She was Allie's 2023 Mustang Mania Competition horse and has done amazing with in-hand competition, even showing at the Western Idaho Fair in 2023.
